Tips and Suggestions for our Parents
> Get involved with your student’s teachers and attend school functions with your student.
> Make sure to complete all the “first day” forms with correct phone numbers, emergency contact numbers for communication purposes.
> Encourage your student to become involved in school events and activities as well as the community. Volunteer for school functions, athletic events, fundraisers, etc.
> Use the Atlanta Public Schools website to review calendar, testing, academic and athletic and extracurricular information.
> Understand that it may take your student several weeks or months to get used to Harper-Archer Way!!!! …...it might take you time to adjust, too!
> Utilize Harper-Archer Middle School’s website for communication, upcoming events and important information.
> Use Parent Portal to continually review grades, attendance and discipline issues (if apply)
> Use school provided agenda to help keep them on task with homework, tests, projects, etc.
>Be patient!! Continue to encourage your student to be responsible and make good choices.
> Review the student/parent handbook with your child.
> Encourage your student to stay organized!
>Lastly….Do not be afraid to ask……..
